Numbers Don't Lie . . .

. . .But apparently Giuliani does...and quite often, I hear. Story can be read here:

Anyone that knows me knows that I dislike this guy with a purple passion. I detest the fact that he rides the coat tails of 9/11 and acts as if he is the savior of New York City. It's even worse when people outside of NYC buy into this media frenzy.

There is a reason why us NYers are not coming out in droves to support him.

Personally, I cannot forget the Guiliani of old, whose candidacy for Mayor (and his time in office) was built on dividing the city (along racial and class lines), and appeasing certain residents of a certain borough (SI) that wanted to secede from NYC. I cannot forget that he proposed the closing of many homeless shelters, leaving men, women, and children (with nowhere else to go) outside during the coldest times of the year. I cannot forget that after 9/11 (the base of his campaign), he propsed the closing of firehouses. Which bring me to my next point...

There is a reason why even the NYPD and FDNY unions have not endorsed him. In fact, they've publically stated that they WILL NOT endorse him. See, while Giuliani was doing interviews on the Tonight Show, patting himself on the back, and taking credit for the sun's daily rising, the police and firefighters were out there finding survivors and remains with poor equipment (due to Giuliani's refusal to give requested funds to upgrade emergency equipment). He also had many stuggles with other city unions (including police and teachers) with renewing their contracts and increasing their salaries to reflect the ever increasing cost of living in this city.

Ughhh...I can go on for pages about where this guy and his campaign can go. He is not "America's Mayor"...do not be fooled by his made-up "statistics"...do not fall for his absurd soundbites about being tough on crime and "cleaning up" NY.

No, I'm not just saying all of this becasue he is a Republican...this guy was on My List long before I started caring about his party affiliation. I'm saying this becasue he's a SCHMUCK...and anyone who takes him and his candidacy seriously without looking deeper into the facts is a TOOL.
